• Changing the default  installation user from admin to a name not so easy to guess.
• Change the  prefix for your database tables away from the default used at installation
•  Use htacess files for 2 folders to keep them safe
• Correct CHMOD for each folder for security
• Makes sure you don’t have which version of wordpress you are using visable

A lot of these risks are because of the use and popularity of wordpress over time, some unscrupulous hackers know the program so well they know which vulnerabilites to attack.

For this reason as well, regular updates are made to the program and database backups are a must.
